It's coming ya'll!! There's no stopping the MAKEUP TRAIN!! LOL.. That's right, "The Makeup Show LA" is scheduled for February 28th-March 1st 2010!

Proof of profession or student status is required.

Admission to The Makeup Show LA includes all seminars and lectures, full access to the show floor and in-out privileges. Entry to The Makeup Show LA also allows participants access to great hands-on workshops. These hands-on workshops are only available to attendees of the show and are at an additional fee.

Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Need a Make Up Artist?!

Attention All Designers, Photographers, Models, Magazine Publications, Public Relation Firms, Agents, Brides, etc..(anyone needing a makeup artist really)

Do you have an upcoming photo shoot, fashion show, TV appearance, event, movie or anything of the like coming up? It may slip many people's mind that a make up artist is an essential part of the image that you will want to portray.

We've all seen the before and after images out there of Jane and John Doe or even well known celebrities?? Though some of them looked fine before makeup, ALL of them looked leaps and bounds better AFTER makeup. It's something that can be easily over looked and I'm here to help you STOP AND LOOK.

Granted, for most of your needs the makeup may not be the focal point. I mean if you're on the red carpet, you will most likely want people to notice your great shape in your beautiful clothes and jewelry. But if you're makeup isn't right, chances are you're going to end up on the cover of a tabloid as the joke of the week. We don't want that for you!!

There are so many talented makeup artists out there that it can be an overwhelming thought of trying to FIIIINNDDD one for your particular need. For this reason, I thought I'd bring to your attention this nifty little site called "The Powder Group".

This site is NOT only for makeup artists. I can see how you would think so but it's not. If you were to go to www.ThePowderGroup.com and scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see the following faded words:

About, Events, Artists, Services, Community, Blog, Press, Shop, Join, Contact.

Of these words, the one you will want to focus on is Artists. When you click on that word you will be taken to The Powder Group's list of Makeup Artists from across the GLOBE!! (Yes I did say GLOBE). Just think, if you happen to be shooting on location somewhere and either your makeup artist can't make it or its just not in the budget to bring them with you, you can refer to this page and find yourself a makeup artist in the area to shoot with.

What's MORE! You're not going into it blindly either! Simply click on the person's name on the list and be taken directly to their website. You will then be able to see samples of their work and decide if they're what you're looking for. You could then contact only the selected Make Up Artist that you've selected and avoid the awkwardness of having to tell someone you've gone another way. (lets face it that's an uncomfortable situation for all of us..lol)

The Makeup Show - NYC


As you may all know (and if you didn't know, now you do), May 17th & 18th was The Makeup Show presented by the Powder Group in NYC. It was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion and of course, I was soooo there.

Now, I bet you think you can imagine the grandeur of such an event but I assure you... you can't. Unless you've actually been there, you just can't possibly grasp the magnitude.

From the moment I walked in, greeted by the Makeup Show staff, it was a whirlwind of makeup madness. Michael DeVellis really outdid himself this time.

First stop, TPG Pro!! That of course stands for "The Powder Group Pro". Yup, signed up for 2 years. Let me tell you about this here membership because after I do, you're going to be signing up too.

Anyway, moving right along..

There were soooo many vendors, if you didn't keep yourself organized and on track, you could get spun around, caught up and end up leaving without purchasing, seeing and learning from the people & places you meant to. Wow holy run on sentence batman!! LOL...

I was fortunate to have been able to bend the ear of some amazing, iconic and successful people. From executive directors, founders/CEO's, makeup artists, agents and more. I went from station to station picking up things I needed for my kit and for myself. I listened intently and learned an astonishing amount of information. I felt I connected with so many other artists. It was fantastic. Dany Sanz, Davis Factor, Nathan Johnson, Kett Cosmetics, OCC, Mario Ink to name a few.
Maxi was both entertaining and educational. Yeikov told it like it was for Yaby. Joe Pearl (for Eve Pearl) took the time to explain the cosmetics to me with a smile. Showed me the very kit Eve travels with and even let me in on some products that are coming soon.
(Yes I am holding her Emmy..lol..Joe's idea..Thank you JOE!!)

It really did feel like I was surrounded by my makeup artist family. Let me tell you, with the amount of people that were there, it could have easily been soo different. Somehow, the vibe was inexplicable. Everyone truly wanted to help you, get to know you and converse with you.
